Education and Income from Work in Brazil

Abstract

This paper analyzes the relationship between education and income in Brazil in 2012, the data used were extracted from the Pesquisa Nacional por Amostras de Domicílios (PNAD) of the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), we used the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) in an econometric model of cross section. Were included as explanatory variables, years of education, years of experience and as variables Dummies color, sex and home location. To assist the analysis of the data also conducted a brief presentation of some historical facts about the history of Brazilian education, and a brief analysis of the theory of human capital.
